Old shoes

Sometimes I’ll deem a pair of shoes unwearable and replace them, retaining the old ones to wear when I mow the lawn. Months pass by, and now the newer shoes are starting to resemble the old, until eventual the old ones become preferable to the new, because they’re more functional. So I’ll trade them out, start wearing the old ones again. Just until I buy yet another pair, of course.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could do that with other things when their newer versions are held together with duct tape and gorilla glue? Those old shoes don’t look as bad as they used to…
