I’m extremely jaded about movies right now. Until last night, it’d been awhile since I’d seen one that truly impressed me.
“The Highwaymen,” a Netflix original film, is the best new movie I’ve seen in at least ten years. The pacing, the dialogue, the acting and the cinematography are all on point.
I love a good period film, and this one really did it for me. Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson have great chemistry together as a couple of grizzled old Texas rangers who come out of retirement to hunt down Bonnie and Clyde.
Trust me, if you’re like me, and you prefer a good grownup movie to all of the plot-free CGI crapfests leaking out of Hollywood’s anus these days, you won’t be disappointed.
I almost watched this the other night, but decided against it. I’ll give it a watch, on your recommendation.
Have you seen Hell or High Water? I watched it about a month ago and would say it’s one of the best movies I have seen in a while.
I have not, but it sounds familiar. I’ll have to check it out if it shows up on prime or Netflix or Hulu or something
It’s on Netflix.
All of the other teachers at my school keep talking about it — guess I’ll finally have to check it out!
Yeah, it’s a really solid watch. Woody Harrelson really Woody Harrelsons it up, but it works for this movie. Kevin Costner really Costners it up, too, and it’s a good combination.
