Groundswell began as a short story and grew into a novella. I suppose it even qualifies as a novel, but that’s neither here nor there.

I cranked this baby out over the summer, posting each chapter online as I finished it. I “pantsed” it, as they say. Freestyled it.
It’s a suspenseful, lightning-paced thriller, but it’s also a real slow-burner. How’s that possible? Read it and find out! Now that I’ve assembled links to all 40 chapters here in one pinned post, that’s an easy task.

Think Dean Koontz. Think X-Files. Think modern-day noir. Think old pulp detective mags updated for 2020. Think government coverups and shadowy federal agencies. Think spooky midwestern ghost towns. If that combination of elements intrigues you, then look no further, because here is Groundswell presented in its entirety, for free.

Will you be publishing this, Patrick?
Probably, at some point. I’m not really into it at the moment so I’m going to leave it here and revisit it at a later time.
Oh okay! I was going to wait for the book but…. 🤔
I’m ten chapters deep into Exitium right now so I’m 100% into that
Even better!!
